Mount Everest

A special highlight is undoubtedly the trek to the Mt.Everest. This trek begins actually with an internal flight, which means from Kathmandu to Lukla. This flight for it self can also be an experience.

“In the meantime the sky got cloudy. Unfortunately also the mountains! Accordingly our machine was flying up and down, because we were flying in the middle of the mountains, some people got scared. Our pilot was a female-pilot. The other pilot was reading a paper. How reassurance!! But we landed happy in Lukla.”

On the same day of our landing in Lukla 2834m, we started our slow walking-tour as wanted.

Especially by the Everest-Route it´s absolutely necessary, to give the body time, that he get´s used to the heights, because you start this Trekking-Tour in a height, Namche Bazar 3440m, which is already critical height.

I planed to make this four valley´s of the Khumbu in a walking-tour in 18 days.
My stages:
Lukla 2834m, Phakdingma 2600m, Namche Bazar 3440m, Thame 3800m, Khumjung 3790m, Dole 4200m, Machherma 4470m, Gokyo 4790m, Gokyo Ri 5360m, Dragnag 4700m, Phortse 3840m, Pheriche 4243m, Lobuche 4930m, Gorak Shep 5190m, Everest Base Camp, Kalla Pattar ca. 5600m, Pheriche 4200m, Dingpoche 4420m, Chukung 4730m, Tengpoche 3867m, Namche Bazar, Phaktingma, Lukla.

Namche Bazar junction for all trekkers and trade routes. Here we take a day to adapt the altitude. We meet many yak-caravans.

Namche Bazar

“Many Yaks, no Yakpiles? The reason is, that they collect those piles, then they get dried out, for the fire.”
